ASIS International – Dubai Chapter 250 (the “Chapter”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through asisdubai.org, why, and what rights you have. It is written to meet the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and, for visitors in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
Data controller: ASIS International – Dubai Chapter 250, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question or request, contact the Chapter Steering Committee through our contact form.
2. What data we collect and why
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), your message and your agreement to this policy. We use them only to answer your request. Legal basis: your request and our legitimate interest in replying to it.
- Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA): the contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to block automated spam. It analyses technical data about your visit (such as IP address, browser and interactions with the page) and sends it to Google. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the form against abuse.
- Event registrations and chapter communications: when you register for an event or ask to receive chapter news, we use your name, email, organisation and job title to manage your participation and send you information. Legal basis: your consent or the performance of your registration. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Website statistics (WP Statistics): we measure visits with WP Statistics, which runs on our own server, does not use cookies and anonymises IP addresses. We see only aggregated figures (pages viewed, country, browser, referring site). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
- Google Analytics (only with your consent): if you accept statistics cookies in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd) to understand how visitors use the site. Google may process data such as your approximate location, device and browsing behaviour on our site. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie settings.
- Technical data: our hosting provider automatically records server logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) for security and to keep the site running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure website.
Membership of ASIS International (applications, payments, certifications) is handled by ASIS International, Inc. on asisonline.org under its own privacy policy. We do not collect payment card details on this website.
3. Cookies
We use essential cookies needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set after you accept them. Embedded content (for example YouTube videos) may set cookies from the provider when you play it. Details and your settings are in our Cookie Policy.
4. Who we share data with
We never sell your data. We share it only with:
- our hosting provider MochaHost (World Host Group US Inc., USA), which stores the website and its database;
- Google, for reCAPTCHA spam protection and, if you have consented, for Google Analytics;
- ASIS International, Inc., where needed for membership or chapter administration;
- service providers we use to send chapter emails or manage events, acting on our instructions;
- public authorities, where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Our hosting provider and Google are based in the United States, so your data may be stored and processed outside the UAE and outside the European Economic Area. We only use providers that apply appropriate safeguards, such as contractual data protection terms.
6. How long we keep data
- Contact form messages: up to 24 months after our last exchange.
- Event and mailing-list data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- WP Statistics: aggregated, anonymous figures kept for as long as useful to the Chapter.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Contact us through our contact form; we reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the UAE Data Office or, if you live in the EU, to your national data protection authority.
8. Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to the administration area is restricted, and we keep the software up to date. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Children
This website is intended for security professionals and is not aimed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. See also our Legal Notice.
